PAM

Overview
For more than 45 years, PAM has made everything from stovetop cooking to baking and grilling just plain easier. PAM works not just on the baking pan or the cookie sheet, but also on spatulas and mixing bowls. With PAM, dishes just come out better.

History
The first patent for a no-stick cooking spray was issued in 1957 to Arthur Meyerhoff, Sr. and Leon Rubin, who started PAM Products, Inc.—the name stood for Product of Arthur Meyerhoff. The men later founded Gibralter Industries and developed a new product: PAM All Natural Cooking Spray.

In the early '60s, a loyal user group was established through the introduction of PAM on local Chicago TV cooking shows. Carmelita Pope, a well-known Chicago personality, endorsed PAM and demonstrated its many uses. PAM quickly became a household word. The easy-to-use spray was widely regarded as the perfect substitute for sauteeing with butter, margarine, or oils.
